Why this matters
Failing the OSSLT doesn't just hurt a grade — it holds up graduation. Students who fail must write again, and after two failed attempts, they're redirected to the OSSLC literacy course.
The students who struggle aren't struggling because they're not smart. They're struggling because nobody walked them through what the test actually looks like before they sat it.

Who wrote this
High School Prep Academy exists because students don't fail tests because they're not capable. They fail because they were moved forward without the right foundation.
This guide is what we wish every Grade 9–10 student in Ontario had before their OSSLT date — written the way it should be taught, not the way curriculum documents are written.
Common questions
How do I get the guide after purchasing?
You'll receive the PDF by email within 12 hours of purchase. Check your inbox — and your spam folder just in case. If you haven't received it after 12 hours, email us at adib@tutortoronto.ca.
Is this guide up to date for 2025–2026?
Yes. The guide is written specifically for the 2025–2026 OSSLT administration. It reflects the current two-session online format and covers all question types students will encounter this year.
My child is in Grade 9 — is it too early to use this?
Not at all. Most students write the OSSLT in Grade 10, but starting the prep in Grade 9 gives significantly more time to address any weak areas — especially writing and grammar. Earlier is always better.
What if my child already failed the OSSLT?
This guide is ideal for students preparing to rewrite. It covers every testable skill systematically, so students can identify exactly what they missed and fix it before their next attempt.
Is there a refund if we're not happy?
If you have any concerns about your purchase, just email us at adib@tutortoronto.ca and we'll make it right.
